This local paper
featured a great front page story just prior to the festival and
followed up with several other articles after the event. This
was one of the many stories that helped draw thousands of people
to join in the fun. |
|
|
Every year millions of
animals are killed because they are homeless and unwanted. Our
festival encouraged its attendees to brighten their homes with
the addition of a new family member. The animal adoptions were
very successful. |
John Robbins, author
of best selling book, Diet for a New America, enamored attendees with his message of peace and environmental sanity.
His presence generated a spectrum of media, this alternative
health magazine devoting a whole page to the message of the
festival. |
|
|
The
media enjoyed our festival so much that they followed up with
stories after the event. Here, The Beacon, shows one of our
volunteers serving a tofu burger, which were a smashing hit at
the festival. |
Media response to the
festival was very positive. Media at the festival included San Diego's
Channel 9/51 weather reporter spending an hour at our festival
interviewing people live on their morning broadcast. Two other
television stations taped very positive stories at the festival that aired in
their evening news shows. The San Diego Union-Tribune, the major
daily paper, featured John Robbins in the opening of its food section
with a color photo. The event was also featured in numerous calendar listings and in radio public service announcements.
While thousands attended the festival, the media helped us and our
sponsors to reach hundreds of thousands more with our important message. Expanding
WorldFest means taking that message to million s!
