Celebration: Los Angeles 2001

Thanks to all the wonderful sponsors, exhibitors, celebrities, musicians and scores of attendees that made WorldFest-LA 2001 a huge success! Drawing 12-13,000 attendees, it was bigger and better than last year. WorldFest was a success not only because so many people came out, not only because animals lives were saved, not only because the media coverage was so good, but because were able to touch the hearts of so many people with the message of compassion..

We had 12,000-13,000 people show up at WorldFest on a record breaking hot day! Thanks to all the exhibitors, volunteers, celebrities, and attendees!

The "Compassion in Action" section was swarmed with thousands of people who wanted to learn how to do their part to make this world a better place.

We had Animal Adoptions at WorldFest. Dreams came true and true love was found at WorldFest. Homeless animals were given shelter by many wonderful new guradians who will make sure that they are never lonely again!

Many celebrities turned out to discuss the benefits of cruelty free living.

Best-selling authors John Robbins, co-founder of EarthSave International, and Howard Lyman, ex-cattle rancher turned vegan and vegie libel suit co-defendant (with Oprah Winfrey) were both hits. Thousands were inspired by their wisdom and compassionate words.

If anyone there had ever wondered what vegetarians eat, their questions were well answered! A huge variety of delicious vegan ethnic and American foods was served from the 30 different food booths.

The children's area was teeming with fun and inspiration as children got to learn about various environmental issues through games, story-telling and more!

The LAPD was at its compassionate best at WorldFest. This officer proudly displayed a "Fishing Hurts" sticker.

Over 150 vendors from all over the country came to exhibit environmentally-friendly products, foods, and services.

At the Gentle Barn's booth children and adults learn that chicken's are wonderful animals that make great friends!

The LA fire and police departments were awarded by Casey Kasem for their selfless community service. Among the participants were firemen and a rescue dog who did heroic work in New York in the aftermath of the tragedy.
