Celebration: Los Angeles 2000

Wow! WorldFest-LA—what a success! It was a success not only because nearly 10,000 people came out, not only because we got national media coverage, but because were able to touch the hearts of many people with the message of compassion.

We had 8,000-10,000 people come out for a day of fun, inspiration, music, and lots of delicious, healthy food. Thanks to all the exhibitors, volunteers, celebrities, and attendees that helped make WorldFest a great success!

Many curious people came out wanting to learn about cruelty free, healthy living and learn how they could get involved.

Families had a great time at WorldFest.  Just look at the smiles on the children's faces!

....And the food was GREAT!!!

The food booths were a smashing success—the food vendors got lots of business, and of course everyone loved the vegan food!

WorldFest was swarming with media.  Reporters and photographers from many local and national news outlets covered the event.

Howard Lyman, ex-cattle rancher turned vegan and veggie libel suit co-defendant with Oprah Winfrey, gave a magnificent speech.  Howard, who authored Mad Cowboy, awed the crowd, and thousands responded with a standing ovation.  Many lives were changed from that moment on.

John Robbins, who is the author of Pulitzer Prize nomination Diet for a New America, wowed the audience and moved them to tears with his message of compassion towards all life.

Here is Alicia Silverstone, star of Batman, Clueless, and Blast from the Past,  giving a heart warming and inspirational talk on how and why she became a vegan.

Linda and Kevin Nealon hang out at WorldFest.  Kevin is a comedian and actor, who starred in Saturday Night Live.  Kevin joined the other celebrities in urging the crowd to make compassionate choices in their lives.  Here he is showing off his vegsource.com hat.

Woody Harrelson, star of Cheers, White Men Can't Jump, and several other movies made a special appearance at WorldFest.
