Having trouble hitting effective topspin on the forehand?
It seems when most tennis players hit topspin, they land the ball near the
service line. The most common cause is hitting on the back foot. This creates a
quick low to high brushing of the ball thus landing the ball short.
Try this:
Move forward more as your hitting the shot, trying to clear the net by 6-10
feet. The higher trajectory can be a weapon especially when you hit to your
opponents back hand. Practice with a partner only hitting these high looping
shots. In the long run, you will develop more confidence and give yourself more
time set up for your next shot.
