All models have a context window of around 32,000 tokens, allowing for processing of lengthy inputs and generating detailed outputs. Tokens are basic building blocks of text and can be individual characters, whole/parts of words, or larger amounts of text. Apparently one token averages out to about 4 characters of text for standard English. The AI breaks text down into tokens in order to process it.
