panorama

Drink in the beauty of the landscape, from pastoral farms, beaver ponds, long stretches of lush rainforest. The 45k and 100k routes also pass the historic Kinsol Trestle.

All rides start at the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre (SLCC) at 8:30 a.m. and finish there.

Here are the three routes you can choose from:

27k Ride

You start at the SLCC and ride counterclockwise around the lake. The first 6k on Renfrew Road leads you to the head of the Trans Canada Trail (TCT). From there you can enjoy the next 12k on the scenic TCT. The last 9k along the east side of Shawnigan Lake takes you back to the SLCC. View online map and/or download printable map.

45k Ride

You start at the SLCC and ride 23k on quiet back roads to Glenora Trail Head Park. From there, the route continues along the scenic TCT (16k), crossing the historic Kinsol Trestle. The last 6k, back to the SLCC, is on a slightly hilly road. View online map and/or download printable map.

100k Century Ride

You start at the SLCC and ride 22k on quiet back roads via Downtown Duncan to the Cowichan Valley trail head on Sherman Road (rest stop). From there, the ride takes you on a packed gravel trail to Lake Cowichan (30k) where a rest stop includes fresh fruit and energy bars. The ride continues on the TCT, passes several wooden bridges crossing the Cowichan River and the majestic Kinsol Trestle, until arriving at Renfrew Road (42k). There are six washrooms on the route. The last 6k back to the SLCC is on a slightly hilly road. View online map and/or download printable map.
