Saving Horses
Is your mother, grandmother, aunt, neighbor, or someone else you care about taking the drug Premarin or Prempro? This may not sound like it has much to do with horses, but read on. These drugs, (Premarin and Prempro), are made out of pregnant mare urine! YUCK! Premarin and Prempro hurt women and horses. These drugs hurt women because they can cause breast cancer, heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, ovarian cancer, and symptoms of Alzheimer's. Now, here's why Premarin and Prempro hurt horses: because they use pregnant mare's urine to produce Premarin and Prempro, pregnant mares are hooked up to "pee lines" (devices that collect urine). Since mares have to be pregnant to produce the urine that the company needs to make the drug, tens of thousands of foals are born each year; they go to auctions, and the ones that don't get homes are slaughtered for horse meat. Please tell people who are taking Premarin or Prempro the dangers of the drug, and that they are supporting a horrible industry when they take Premarin or Prempro. Women can ask their doctors about other drugs and therapies that they can use. |
