In the winter of 2009, 3 calves were born to a dairy cow in Nova Scotia.

Sadly, after finding these calves a new, permanent home with other rescued animals, all three calves survived only a few weeks. They were not strong enough to survive the rest of the winter because they were denied the essential nutrients provided by their mother's milk. This is the sad reality of many dairy calves born on farms.
