Outside the Superstore we distributed pamphlets telling how "Being Boiled Hurts"; and putting a very large, lovable face to the lobster many maritimer’s consume. Then we transported him by car to a location along the coast of Nova Scotia. We carried the box into the water and let him go. When we left him, Homer was moving on his own and, one can only imagine, enjoying his new found freedom and second chance at life. Our expert biologists told us that lobsters are very resilient animals. They can be released almost anywhere (preferably not by any traps!) and adapt well to new surroundings. The only concern is that he, and his claw muscles, may be weak from living so long in the grocery tank with no food and elastics on his claws. Even if Homer is unable to survive for long, after the trauma of the grocery store, at least he now has a fighting chance.
