Dani Hy Dennenberg is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a background in Sociology, Environmental Studies, and Law and Society. She is pursuing a dual Masters of Education with an emphasis in Humane Education through an affiliation program between Cambridge College and the International Institute for Humane Education (IIHE), the nation's only program of its kind.

Dani believes that humane education, as a pioneering field, is vital for social change throughout the world. She is compelled to reach out to young people and to encourage them to think critically about who and what they care about, what it means to be humane, and how to live by their values.

MEET THE VOLUNTEERS OF SEEDS FOR CHANGE

Operating a full-time humane education program is no small task. Our team of volunteers works diligently behind-the-scenes on projects ranging from database design to administrative tasks and public outreach. It wouldn't be possible without them!

Donna Calvao is a native San Diegan. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCSD in 1995 and has been working as a software instructor for 7 years. A year ago she learned about the horrors of factory farming. Soon after,  she attended the Sowing Seeds Workshop where she met Seeds for Change's instructor, Dani Dennenberg. This workshop was the single most life changing experience for Donna.

When she learned that Dani's humane education program could reach others like her, she was eager to help any any way she could. She says, "Seeds for Change teaches the very same lessons...that had made such a lasting impression on my heart, and [I] am excited to be a part of such a worthwhile organization."

Donna does countless hours of database design for us!

Hava Dennenberg is currently working for the Crisis Department at Jewish Family Service. She will be on the East Coast to pursue a Master's of Social Work in the fall of 2003! Hava has spoken on behalf of those without a voice for the past ten years now, and she feels very strongly about leaving the earth better than how she found it. She spends her spare time volunteering for Seeds for Change, Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the SAY Mentor Program for at-risk youth. Hava has a dream of someday creating an eco-friendly sanctuary called Farm HAVA- Humane Avenues Via Animals, through which her passions and interests for protecting abused and neglected farmed animals, as well as improving the lives of abused and neglected youth will be fulfilled.
