Carolyn Singer
Resource Committee Guide
Project
Carolyn is a native of Ontario, growing up in
Ottawa and subsequently settling in Toronto. She
attended Queen's University where she received B.A.
and B.S.W. degrees, and later completed her M.S.W.
Carolyn worked in several community agencies before
joining the Faculty of social Work at the
University of Toronto.
Carolyn, now retired, remains active and
involved. She is a member of the Toronto Seniors'
Council and is currently participating in a project
to teach people how to be friendly to seniors. They
are training some of the hospital staff so that
they in turn may train others.
Carolyn, now aged 82, says with a laugh "you can
tell people that I travel and I drive my car and
drive at night". She is also, with less enthusiasm,
learning to use a computer, but she prefers to hear
a voice whenever possible.
