Kathy Hagerty
Administration and Education
Facilitator
Kathy was born in Victoria and is an Island girl
at heart. As long as there is salt water and sand
nearby she is content. She has experience as a
teacher and administrator in the field of health
education and has worked in both the public school
system in BC and in community health in Oregon.
When Kathy's husband became ill, her role
changed to family caregiver. The concern and
support from the Family Caregivers Support Society
and others in similar circumstances was a
revelation and marked a turning point in her life.
Her caring spirit, love of the great outdoors and
art/photography and her commitment to Cowichan
Family Caregivers Support Society has sustained her
through her changed and challenging life as a
caregiver.
In her role as Administration and Education
Facilitator, Kathy reaches out to others by finding
answers to their questions, providing educational
opportunities and keeping the lines of
communication open. "We all do a little of
everything, whatever needs to be done, it is a joy
to be part of such a wonderful team."
