WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER?

Seeds for Change Humane Education is a project of Doctors for Kindness to Animals, a nonprofit public benefit and tax-exempt organization. We offer a free series of captivating, educational presentations as well as resources on animal, environmental and cultural issues for grades six through college and adult audiences in San Diego County and surrounding areas.

Meet the team that makes it all happen!

Seeds for Change Humane Education seeks to undermine all forms of exploitation and oppression by inviting individuals to explore their most deeply held beliefs about themselves, other cultures, other species and the planet. We provide life-affirming, sustainable and practical lifestyle choices that help students put their principles into action.

In a non-judgmental and positive atmosphere, our dynamic, thought-provoking presentations encourage student participation and critical thinking by combining lively discussions with short videos, visual aids, and activities.

Discussions are also designed to encourage active participation and leadership in the County of San Diego by providing volunteer opportunities with community organizations.

"Humane education offers real hope for the new century. Teaching reverence for the Earth, kindness, compassion, and rejection of cruelty, exploitations and oppression in their many manifestations, it can help rebuild a biophilic (life-loving and life-affirming) ethic in future generations."

David Selby
Director of International Institute for Global Education and Author of Earthkind

Programs are flexible in length and format to meet the interests of the audience, and can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of your school or group.

Seeds for Change Humane Education is available to present to any size class, school assembly, afterschool club meetings, youth centers, libraries, religious or community organizations, conferences and/or universities.

"Humane education is preventative medicine to a world out of balance. It challenges all the social ills we face, from the exploitation of other species and the planet itself, to poverty and war, to prejudice and greed. The seeds we sow…are the seeds of peace, kindness, sustainability, respect and compassion, and from them a more humane world will spring."
